Three Steps Back - Coming February, 2010
Wednesday, 23 December 2009 20:51

With all due apologies in differing matters of degrees, Killing Time is happy to announce that the new album “Three Steps Back” will be released on February 9th, 2010.

The album is being released by NY diehard hardcore label Dead City Records and will be exclusively distributed overseas by Coretex Records (Europe) and Jukeboxxx Records (Japan). The album will also be available on iTunes, Amazon MP3 and all other major digital download sites the same week. For more information on the hardcopy CD, go to www.deadcityrecords.com.

The album, which started off as a minor suggestion in 2008, quickly turned into an obsession for every member of the band and we are all excited that it has finally come full circle. During the time we have spent writing and recording the material, we have experienced the loss of two loving parents and have also experienced the births of two precious children. So it goes.

A record release party is being planned for Saturday, February 27th at the new Knitting Factory, Brooklyn, NY. Doors open at 07:00. At this time, confirmed opening acts include, Maximum Penalty and Suburban Scum. We hope to see you all there.

In the meantime, sample tracks from the album can be heard here on this site by clicking on the “New Album – Sample Tracks” link on the main navigation. We will probably be adding more as we get closer to the release date.

See you in February.

New Album Sample Tracks...Black N Blue Bowl

Killing Time's new album, "Three Steps Back," is coming soon. We're just tiding up some final details. It looks like it will land this summer, and we thought you might like to hear a bit of what it's like. We've posted samples to three of the 12 tracks in the "New Album--Sample Tracks" section, so head on over and check them out.

We'll be playing some of the new material on Saturday, May 30th, at the Black N Blue Bowl at Studio B in Brooklyn. You don't need to be told about this show, as the line-up and the history of these shows does all the talking. If you still haven't gotten tix, I'd get there early. It's going to be crazy.

Killing Time in Chicago

Killing Time will be playing the Metro in Chicago, Il on May 2nd. We are just one of the many bands that will perform over the two day concert that was put together to promote the release of a new book entitled "Burning Fight: The Nineties Hardcore Revolution in Ethics, Politics, Spirit, and Sound" by Brian Peterson. This event has already sold out. Other bands on the bill include Unbroken, Disembodied, Trial, Converge, Underdog, Guilt, Split Lip, Threadbare, 108, Reach the Sky, Damnation A.D., Ringworm, Bane, Have Heart, Betrayed, Blacklisted, Soul Control, The Killer, Harm's Way, Convicted and Thought Crusade. If you want to learn more about the book or show, check out the Burning Fight web site.

New Album "Three Steps Back"
Tuesday, 02 September 2008 00:00

Killing Time is now in the studio recording our third full-length album appropriately named "Three Steps Back." The album is scheduled to be released in early 2009. The band started work on the album in January 2008 after returning from our tour of Japan and South Korea. To write the material, we decided to bring it back to where it all started—Drago’s parents’ garage, the place where Breakdown had formed and where the classic “Brightside” record had been written and rehearsed. We see “Three Steps Back” as both a return to the band’s roots and a new vision of what a classic hardcore band can still accomplish. We think that these twelve news songs bring New York Hardcore back to its punk beginnings while still offering up that classic Killing Time crunch and power.

Band Update
Thursday, 16 October 2008 19:55
First of all, we would like to thank all the bands that opened up for us over the summer months including Maximum Penalty, SubZero, Have Heart, Everyday Dollars, Verse, Inhuman, Skin Kandy, Malignancy, The Boardloards, Outbreak, Cruel Hand, Foundation and The Carrier. We would also like to thank all of you who came out to the shows in Philly, Haverhill, Yonkers and New York.

We are still in and out of the studio recording vocals for the new release “Three Steps Back” which we plan to release by March of next year. Last week we confirmed that we would be opening for the legendary Bad Brains at The Fillmore @ Irving Plaza, New York on Wednesday, November 5th. Hope you can all make it out. Later in December we will be playing out in Long Island. As soon as we get the details, we will post the info in “Upcoming Shows”.
